First, the difference in use.
20# seamless steel pipes are structural pipes, fluid pipes, and low and medium pressure boiler pipes. 20G seamless steel pipe is a high pressure boiler tube. In addition to the same carbon content, 20G seamless steel pipes also have some trace elements, which are more suitable for use in boilers and pressure vessels. The steel pipe has a hollow section and is widely used as a pipeline for transporting fluids, such as pipelines for transporting oil, natural gas, gas, water and certain solid materials.
Second, the difference in characteristics.
The characteristic strength of 20# seamless pipe is slightly higher than that of No. 15 steel, and it is rarely quenched and has no temper brittleness. Cold deformation has high plasticity, and is generally used for bending, calendering, flanging and hammer arch processing. The welding performance of arc welding and contact welding is good, the thickness of gas welding is small, and cracks are prone to occur on workpieces with strict shape requirements or complex shapes. The machinability of cold drawn or normalized state is better than that of annealed state.
20G seamless steel pipes have strict requirements on the steel grades used in the manufacture of steel pipes. The steel pipe is required to have high lasting strength, high oxidation corrosion resistance, and good organizational stability.
Third, the difference in price.
Due to the manufacturing process and composition of 20G seamless steel pipe, the price will be higher than that of 20# seamless steel pipe.
