Once decarburization occurs in the production process of the steel pipe, it will affect the subsequent process and reduce the high-quality performance and service life of the steel pipe itself. Therefore, manufacturers usually take appropriate measures to avoid or solve this problem
In general, there are two ways to avoid decarburization. The first method is to use the protective nature of nitrogen to maintain the pressure in the furnace. Production workers can add neutral nitrogen to the furnace according to the ratio, which can not only prevent outside oxygen and water vapor from entering the furnace, but also effectively disperse the existing oxidizing gas in the furnace, and there is no reaction medium with the surface carbon. There will be no decarburization, and can reduce the area of decarburization.
Another method is to control the content of carbon dioxide in the furnace according to the balance point made by the work-piece. According to expert research, if the balance point in the furnace is higher than the content of carbon dioxide and other oxidizing gases, then there will be no decarburization and oxidation; if the carbon dioxide content and the equilibrium point are flat, it will show a neutral result, that is, neither decarburization nor oxidation.
The last result is also the main cause of decarburization, that is, the content of oxidizing gas in the furnace is already higher than the equilibrium point, so to avoid the occurrence of decarburization, the balance point must be calculated according to the temperature and carbon content inside the work-piece, and then control the content of oxidizing gas in the furnace.
